Highway 36 Stillwater Lift Bridge

The iconic Stillwater lift bridge was built in 1931 to replace a swing bridge dating to 1910. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989,
this project was divided into five main components; structural steel repairs, concrete surface repairs of the existing piers, historic concrete repairs of the balustrade rail, mechanical lift equipment repairs and electrical system repairs. Kraemer is currently transforming the lift bridge into a bicycle/pedestrian crossing that will accommodate marine traffic during and after the project is complete.
