Hennepin County Historic Franklin Avenue Bridge
| This historic Franklin Ave. Melan arch bridge project included a deck replacement, structural repairs, access challenges, and a limited closure period. The 1,054 ft. long bridge spans the Mississippi River and contains a five-span, open spandrel 400 ft. arch. The spandrel/pier cap beams and 70,000 sq. ft. of bridge deck were removed and replaced using a sequential process to minimize arch movement. |
