Bridges To Prosperity
Uchu Uchu, Bolivia
Overview
Partnering with the non-profit entity, Bridges to Prosperity, Kraemer built a suspended footbridge over the Uchu Uchu River in the Bolivian Andes Mountain Range. Sitting at 11,300 feet in elevation, this bridge provides safe, year-round access to necessary services across the river for more than 2,000 members of the Uchu Uchu, Arrumiri, Villa Bolivar, Loco Loconi, Lapiani, Jankoaje, and Tancami communities. The finished suspended bridge is comprised of timber decking on steel crossbeams, and 29mm cables, and is 67m long.
Kibembe Suspension Footbridge, Uganda
Overview
Kimbembe sits on the bank of the Sironko River and floods for more than three months of the year, becoming dangerous to cross and eliminating residents’ ability to reach critical services. Partnering with the non-profit, Bridges to Prosperity, the new suspension footbridge was constructed by an all-women team. More than 1,700 individuals, including 300 children, now have a safe connection to a market, primary and secondary schools, and medical centers.
